NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
NOTE: The PMI process must begin with the current DSM or SCMB (front passenger seat control module) installed. If the current DSM or SCMB (front passenger seat control module) does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the DSM or SCMB (front passenger seat control module) following the on-screen instructions.Vehicles with heated/ventilated seats
NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new DSM .
NOTE: The SCME is integral to the DSM . PMI is required on both the DSM and the SCME when a new DSM is installed.
NOTE: The PMI process must begin with the current SCME installed. If the current SCME does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.

NOTE: Vehicles without multi-contour seats, the DSM outboard mounting tab is located under the front seat front shield as shown.
Remove the screws, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the DSM .Installation

Press and hold the outer two function buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds until the indicator light above the buttons flashes rapidly. When the indicator light flashes, release the buttons.
