Lincoln Nautilus: Battery, Mounting and Cables / Battery. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE:
The cowl panel is removed for clarity.

Disconnect the battery.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

Remove the bolt and the battery hold-down bracket. Remove the battery.
Torque:
93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)

If equipped and replacing the battery, remove the battery cover.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

If installing a new battery, use the scan tool to carry
out the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) reset after the battery is
connected.
Disconnect
NOTICE:
Removing the negative battery ground cable at the LH
strut tower will not disable the vehicle's electrical system. Failure
to disconnect the battery cable from the battery post may cause
component damage...

How Does Traction Control Work
If your vehicle begins to slide, the system
applies the brakes to individual wheels and,
when needed, reduces power at the same
time. If the wheels spin when accelerating
on slippery or loose surfaces, the system
reduces power in order to increase traction.
