Lincoln Nautilus: Body Closures / Power Liftgate Motor. Removal and Installation
Removal
-
Remove the D-pillar trim panel.
Refer to: D-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

NOTICE:
Take extra care not to crease the headliner.
Release the retainers and position aside the headliner.

Disconnect the power liftgate motor electrical connector.

Route the power liftgate motor electrical harness through the body.

WARNING:
Keep all body parts clear of power liftgate motor.
The compressed spring in a damaged power liftgate motor can release
large amount of force during removal. Failure to follow this instruction
may result in serious personal injury.
NOTICE:
Support the liftgate at full open position before
removing the power liftgate motor. Failure to follow this direction may
result in damage to the components.
Remove the clips and the power liftgate motor.
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Carry-out the power liftgate initialization.
Refer to: Power Liftgate Initialization (501-03 Body Closures, General Procedures).

Remove the fuel filler door assembly.

Release the clips and remove the fuel filler door latch.

To install, reverse the removal procedure...
